Also in Gotham West Market, Ample Hills Creamery serves up what I believe is some of the best ice cream in the world. Their flavors are viciously unique, and savagely delicious. It’s a tiny stand upon entry to Gotham West, but inside those frozen tubs behind the display are some of the most genius ice cream flavors I’ve had the honor of having.
Most notably, their marshmallow flavor was spectacular when it was available, but all of their ice creams have very rich flavors and unique touches. They’re fans of supplying legitimate chunks of whatever their creation is based upon, such as chunks of caramel, marshmallow, cake, love, etc.
The flavors may come off as too sweet for some people, but as a recovered sugar addict, I couldn’t complain. I’ve had a great deal of ice cream throughout my life, but I’d say Ample Hills always satisfies me the most. It’s great for dessert after any restaurant at Gotham West, especially Ivan Ramen’s Slurp Shop.
Gotham West in general is a very trendy and enjoyable cafeteria-style setting, with a number of bars and hipster restaurants. It’s a great place to stop on the way to a concert at Terminal 5, since the venue is only a few blocks up.
